Why you should try Emsculpt Neo

By Danielle LeBlond LE, CLT

Have you ever wanted to lose fat and build muscle all while lying down and doing nothing? Yes, please!

Emsculpt Neo is a quick, painless and non-invasive body contouring treatment that can do that for you!

Emsculpt Neo uses two different therapies that work simultaneously together:

1. High-intensity focused electromagnetic technology that stimulates muscles contractions in a targeted area.

2. Radiofrequency technology which heats up muscles and heats up fat cells which are then broken down and discarded from your body’s lymphatic system

-On average, Emsculpt Neo can burn 30% fat and build 25% muscle !

-Emsculpt Neo can be applied over abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms and calves.

Other unexpected reasons Emsculpt Neo may be beneficial for you:

1. It may help with female incontinence by tightening and strengthening the pelvic floor muscles

2. Improves core strength which helps your posture and allows you to put less pressure on back and hips which may lessen back pain for some.

3. Neo can be used post liposuction and after other body contouring procedures to help tighten the underlying muscles and smooth out the area to enhance your post-operative results.

4. Post pregnancy, Neo can target lower abdomen bringing the area back together through muscle tightening, toning and fat reduction.

We at Skin Appeal suggest starting with a series of 4-8 treatments, spaced out every 5-7 days for the best results. Don’t wait, come meet with one of our expert providers in body contouring for your complimentary consultation!

When Are Lasers not the Best Treatment Option for Skin Rejuvenation?

By Yoko McCall LE, CLT

At Skin Appeal we offer many different options for skin rejuvenation. When deciding on what treatment will be best for you, we must consider your goals, downtime or healing tolerability and budget but also whether you are a good candidate for the treatment or not. One of the most sought-after treatments for skin rejuvenation are lasers due to their effectiveness in preventing and reversing the effects of sun damage and aging. Unfortunately, not everyone is a good candidate for lasers therefore we are always in search of effective alternatives to even and brighten skin tone as well as treatments to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

One factor that may rule out cosmetic lasers for you is if you are at an increased risk for PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation)

-Patients with Melasma

-Asian skin

-Fitzpatrick Scale of IV or higher (find out where you score here) are likely to not be the best candidates for laser resurfacing.

For patients who are at higher risk of PIH, we love recommending our Microneedling treatment as it stimulates collagen and elastin production by delivering controlled micro punctures into the skin. Your skin undergoes a peeling process which reveals fresh, new skin. Combining a skin lightener like Cosmelan 2 Maintenance Cream with Microneedling can deliver a beautiful result where your skin does not only feels smoother but also looks brighter and more radiant.

Why Your Single Treatment Is Not Giving You The Results You Want

By: Savannah McLaughlin, LE, CLT

Over the years at Skin Appeal, we have found that the most effective way of treating a multitude of different skincare concerns is by using different modalities in a single treatment. Because we are able to target more than one concern, we find that the results are typically ten-fold in comparison to using one modality. One of our most popular combination treatments at Skin Appeal is our Halo Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatment. Halo is a hybrid fractional laser that treats sun damage, fine lines, texture and skin tone. Although Halo Laser is a beautiful treatment on its own, we love to combine it with BBL and NeoGen for a comprehensive, optimal skin treatment with the best result possible.

The BBL, Halo Laser and NeoGen combination is one of our most effective Skin Rejuvenation treatments available to patients at Skin Appeal. The ability to use different modalities allows us to treat a wide range of skin concerns at multiple layers including: acne scarring, fine lines/wrinkles, sun damage, skin laxity and more.

NeoGen: Our NeGenPSR device uses pressurized plasma energy that penetrates the skin’s surface to effectively increase skin tightening, resurfacing, and regeneration. As thermal energy is released from the controlled plasma blast, the skin’s tissue heats up, increasing tissue contraction. Because NeoGen plasma energy has the capability to reach as deep as the reticular dermis, collagen loss caused by acne scarring, sun damage and our natural aging process is remodeled.

Broad Band Light: BBL is a light treatment that helps to correct pigmentation and vascularity in the skin. By using a spectrum of light, BBL is able to target a range of skincare concerns including sun damage, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, broken capillaries, rosacea, acne and more. When performing BBL in conjunction with Halo, we are able to treat the skin with multiple wavelengths of light targeting pigmentation and at all layers/depths of skin. Following your complimentary BBL treatment with your Halo Laser allows us to further treat the overall texture and elasticity of the skin.

Halo: One of our most popular combination treatments at Skin Appeal is our Halo Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatment. Halo is a hybrid fractional laser that treats sun damage, fine lines, texture and skin tone.
